The presentation looks at the impact of COVID-19 on network stability from the perspective of RIPE Atlas. I’ll be looking at changes in RIPE Atlas measurement results over the course of the pandemic and comparing what we expected to see in both RIPE Atlas and RIS data – i.e. issues due to lower maintenance, restricted access to data centres, network delays due to increased traffic etc. – with what we actually saw. I’ll also be talking about how the Internet community can carry out their own analysis of such events using RIPE Atlas tools and datasets, and how we at the RIPE NCC are working to support this kind of research.
