Gastón Giribet
Professor at NYU
Education Gaston Giribet is Clinical Professor of Physics. He received a M.Sc. and a Ph.D. in Physics from University of Buenos Aires, and a Ph.D. in Philosophy from Pontifical Catholic University of Argentina. Prior to joining NYU, Giribet was Associate Professor at University of Buenos Aires, Visiting Professor at Free University of Brussels, Research Scientist at New York University, and Member of the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton. AREAS OF RESEARCH/INTEREST Giribet's research focuses on string theory and conformal field theory, with applications to black hole physics. One central theme of his research is the study of AdS/CFT holographic correspondence in the stringy regime, i.e. beyond the supergravity approximation. He is also interested in different ramifications of holography.
